Introduction

Forged in Fire is an American competition series that airs on the History Channel, and is produced by Outpost Entertainment, a Leftfield Entertainment company.

History ordered an initial eight episodes of the series with the first programme premiering on Monday 22 June 2015, at 10.00 pm (US Eastern Time), and ending on 10 August 2010.

Outline

Sergeant Hayden’s Sword: Signature chopper (using only a sliver of 1095 high-carbon steel and rusty scrap steel for the rest).

Four smiths will need more than luck when they are given only a small sliver of high carbon steel and a whole lot of mild steel to forge a knife. After their knives are put through a round of brutal tests, the two surviving smiths return home to recreate a sword credited with helping win a war–Sergeant William Hayden’s Sword. These weapons will then face a final testing battle, where only one smith will be victorious and walk away with $10,000 and the title of Forged in Fire Champion.
