Introduction

The Gallant Men is a 1962-1963 ABC Warner Bros. Television series which depicted an infantry company of American soldiers fighting their way through Italy in World War II.

Outline

In the most action-packed of all 26 episodes, Private Lopuschok, an Army clothes-fitter who has spent much of the war in the quartermaster corps, is given the chance to finally serve on the front lines. Though he is well-liked by his fellow soldiers, he is a “foul-up” on combat duty and constantly refuses to obey orders. What eventually happens to Lopuschok triggers a serious falling-out between Captain Benedict and Lieutenant Kimbro.
