Introduction

The Last Rifleman is an upcoming British action thriller drama film written by Kevin Fitzpatrick, directed by Terry Loane and starring Pierce Brosnan. It is based on the true story of Bernard Jordan.

Outline

A WWII veteran escapes his care home in Northern Ireland and embarks on an arduous but inspirational journey to France to attend the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings, finding the courage to face the ghosts of his past.

Production

In September 2020, it was announced that Brosnan will star in the film. In November 2020, it was announced that Louis Gossett Jr. and Jürgen Prochnow were added to the cast.

Principal photography wrapped in August 2022 in Belfast after six weeks of filming.
