Introduction

The twentieth season of the American police procedural television series NCIS premiered on 19 September 2022 on CBS during the 2022-2023 television season, and concluded on 22 May 2023. This is the first season to not credit Mark Harmon who portrayed Leroy Jethro Gibbs since the show’s first season, and the last to feature David McCallum prior to his death on 25 September 2023. This season includes the 450th episode of the series. The season contained 22 episodes.

Outline

A murder at the Navy archives is linked to the Russian spies that NCIS had arrested in recent months. They soon discover that a devastating attack is imminent and must race against the clock to prevent it. Elsewhere, Jimmy blurts out to Knight that he loves her without immediately realising it and worries about the state of their relationship as a result, but Knight later declares she loves him too.
