Introduction

Documentary series following a batch of 45 fresh-faced 16-17 year old recruits going through the British Army’s basic training at the Army Foundation College Harrogate, North Yorkshire. Each one will suffer successes and failures as they attempt to prove that they have what it takes to be a soldier.

The rookies are asked to confront the realities of soldiering and the difficult truths associated with it, chief among them the fact that they will potentially be taking lives and risking their own.

Plus, the staff set out to find which of the group have what it takes to be leaders during realistic battlefield scenarios that must be undertaken against the clock.
