Begins with a segment featuring Secretary of the Navy Frank Knox.
Some of the planes included are the Douglas TBD-1 Devastator torpedo plane, the PBY Catalina Flying Boat, the gigantic Consolidated Coronado PB2Y amphibian, and others.
Historic footage shows the history of naval aviation until 1940, including the flight of the NC-4 amphibian, the US Navy’s flying boats in Europe during World War I, and the first flights from the aircraft carrier Langley.
Some of the ships featured include the aircraft carriers USS Langley, USS Lexington and the USS Saratoga.
