Introduction

Weapons Races is a military television documentary series examining the development of various new military technologies and how their evolution impacted tactics and strategies used in warfare since the High Middle Ages, but focused mainly on film since World War I.
Outline
The programme looks at the evolution of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers, and how the aircraft carrier adapted into a floating military base of extraordinary potency.
From the very first true aircraft carrier, HMS Argus to the latest super carrier, USS George W Bush (representing the state of the art mobile airfield); a race has ensued to develop the most powerful fighting vessel ever created by man.
