The regiment has been in existence for over a century, and the Dogras have established themselves as hardy, kind, and courageous soldiers.

The regiment started with three battalions, but more battalions have been added to the regiment over the years.

Being a part of the Dogra Regiment and working in the Indian Army has become a way of life for people from the Dogra hills.
