Introduction
George Washington is a 1984 American television miniseries directed by Buzz Kulik.
The miniseries, released in three parts, chronicles the life of George Washington, the 1st President of the United States, from age 11 to age 51
George Washington is based on the biography by James Thomas Flexner.
It was followed in 1986 by George Washington II: The Forging of a Nation.
Outline
Barry Bostwick portrays the “father of his country” as a down-to-earth character in this three-part miniseries, which opens with Washington as a 22-year-old officer at the outset of the French and Indian War; and courting widow Martha Custis (Patty Duke Astin).
