The West Point Story, also known simply as West Point, is a dramatic anthology television series shown in the United States by CBS during the 1956-1957 season and by ABC during the 1957-1958 season.
Also known as The Operator.
Second Classman Hammeroff is an “operator” in the classic “Mole” tradition. A rough and tumble product of a big city, he is good West Point material, except that he goes over-board in attempting to beat the Army system. His roommate, Second Classman Towne, is almost a direct opposite. A product of an old back bay Boston family, he has taken Army regulations to heart, and is in danger of becoming a book man…. a martinet. This basic difference between the two men has set up a rivalry in which both cadets are endangering their careers by going to extremes, each one trying to prove his way to the Army way. A situation is resolved by the Tactical Officer, Major Neilson, who turns this rivalry into constructive channels and arranges for the good qualities of each cadet to rub off each other.
