The West Point Story, also known simply as West Point, is a dramatic anthology television series shown in the United States by CBS during the 1956-1957 season and by ABC during the 1957-1958 season.
A USAF Air Base where a West Point class is receiving summer jet familiarisation training. Our lead, Chuck Cawlstat, who has had some previous light plane flying time, is not excited about the manoeuvre as his friends. An infantry careerist, he considers flying only another form of transportation. He finds jet flying considerably more thrilling than he anticipated. A minor emergency occurs and, although unhurt and never in any great danger, the unfamiliar experience unnerves him. Not understanding that a certain amount of fright is a healthy and normal reaction, he becomes angry with himself and stubbornly decides to reject his infantry career and apply for an Air Force commission. However, when he is scheduled on a second jet flight a real emergency does occur, and he finds his courage put to a decisive test. He discovers that fear and courage can go hand in hand — the experience clarifies his thinking and resolves his problem.
