Senior Israeli officials do not seem worried about the prospect of war. Avinoam, A soldier in the intelligence unit of the Intelligence Corps in the Hermon outpost hears a Syrian broadcast that convinces him that the Syrians will launch an attack. After his commander does not believe him, he discovers that Yoav, the post’s security officer, is supposed to leave the base for a short vacation to be with his girlfriend, Dafna. Although Yoav does not believe him either, he does miss the last ride he planned to take out of the outpost and stays at the remote base for the weekend. Meanwhile, Alush, a Tank gunner, comes to take his friend and fellow soldier in his team back to their unit. His friend, Marco, feels a strong sense of hatred towards the establishment due to the poor quality of life of the Mizrahim compared to Ashkenazim and is considering defecting from the IDF. Marco does not know that Alush is in love with his sister. In a violent incident Marco and his friend Malachi organised, Marco managed to escape from the cops after confronting them, but Malachi was caught and arrested. Alush convinces Marco to return to the unit to try and talk to their commander, hoping to persuade the police to release Malachi. Their Commander, Aviram, refuses to help Marco and Malachi’s Black Panthers movement. The next day, war breaks out, with the Syrian launching an invasion of the Golan heights. Syrian commando helicopters have landed in Hermon, and the tank unit is bombarded by the Syrian air force. Menny Ben-Dror in Tel-Aviv is woken up by the air sirens of the invasion. His former French wife calls him after hearing about the war and asks him to take his son from the IDF back to Paris. Malachi manages to escape from his cell to help his friends in the tank unit. The Syrians enter the Hermon outpost, and while initially trying to stop them, Yoav decides to evacuate the base with the remaining soldiers under his command and rescues Avinoam.
Despite being outnumbered by the advancing Syrian tanks, Aviram’s unit manages to hold their position by using their high terrain to fire on the Syrians and take cover from incoming fire. Menny picks up Malachi in his car and they drive towards the Golan heights. Dafna and all the female soldiers are evacuated from their base, but Dafna tries to find a way to go back and help. In a Syrian ambush, Aviram is killed by a sniper. Aviram’s friend and second in command, Kaspi, is traumatised by his death and fires on an incoming APC, thinking it is a Syrian vehicle, but the unit discovers to their horror that they fired on a friendly IDF APC and killed IDF soldiers.
