Introduction
13 in de Oorlag (13 in the War) is a docudrama about young people in the Second World War. In each episode, the war experience of a 13-year-old is central.
Outline
Kaat (12 years old, Amsterdam) is no longer allowed in the swimming pool or the cinema. She is obliged to wear a yellow Star of David, and she is stamped with a large J in her ID, so that she is always recognisable. And then the family also receives a call to report for a labour camp in the east. If they do not go voluntarily, they will be picked up from the house in a heavy-handed manner. Lisa Wade visits the Anne Frank house where eight people in hiding have been in hiding for two years.
