Outline

As punishment for making an unplanned landing to meet with Yulia, the pilot Chukin continues to sit in the guardhouse, and the girl secretly visits him. Upon learning of this, the division commander becomes furious. Julia quarrels with her father and he sends her to work on the switchboard. Bochkin receives an invitation to the academy.

And in the garrison, preparations are in full swing for May Day. Veniamin Lukov, director of the festive concert, has been invited from Sevastopol. Ironically, he is the ex-husband of Inessa, whom his mother chose as the bride to the division commander. Inessa volunteers to go with him to Sunny to charm the division commander.
