Introduction
Strange World is an American television programme about military investigations into criminal abuses of science and technology.
ABC commissioned 13 episodes, of which three aired in March 1999, before the network cancelled the programme. The remaining ten episodes produced subsequently premiered on the Sci-Fi Channel in Spring 2002.
Brilliant, terminally ill, army scientist Paul Turner investigates criminal activities that involve unethical experiments on humans, environmental hazards, biological weapons and a mysterious group with a sinister agenda.


Outline
Turner is sent to a small town in Iowa to handle some paperwork involving a man killed by a gas leak. He finds signs of a more serious contamination there that may be tied to a GMO strain of potato. The man’s son blames the town’s elders.
