Introduction

Under Electric Clouds (Russian: Pod electricheskimi oblakami, Под электрическими облаками) is a 2015 Russian sci-fi drama film directed by Aleksei Alekseivich German.

Outline

Episodic, spiritual and existentialistic look at the state the Russia is in in 2017, exactly one hundred years after the communist-led Russian Revolution. The future looks gloomy, since the world is on the brink of yet another world war.

Trivia

• The production of the movie took 5 years.
• To create a special visual series of the picture, work on the film was carried out in winter and spring.
• Most of the selected objects for filming (unfinished buildings, the airport under construction) were surrounded by typical blue building fences.
  • In total, during the filming, several kilometres of construction barriers were dismantled and installed back.
