Introduction
Barry is an American dark comedy-crime television series created by Alec Berg and Bill Hader that premiered on HBO on 25 March 2018.
Hader stars as Barry Berkman, a former US Marine and a hitman, from Cleveland who travels to Los Angeles to kill someone but finds himself joining an acting class taught by Gene Cousineau (Henry Winkler), where he meets aspiring actress Sally Reed (Sarah Goldberg) and begins to question his path in life as he deals with his criminal associates such as Monroe Fuches (Stephen Root) and NoHo Hank (Anthony Carrigan).
Outline
Hank and Cristobal meet a handler named Toro to procure assassins to kill Barry, who in turn is trying to get himself and Sally relocated to witness protection. Batir informs Hank that Chechen leaders want him to kill the rival gangs. O’Neil visits Barry in prison to ask about Gene, sending Barry into a rage when he learns what Gene said about him. O’Neil then visits Jim, who terrorizes him into silence. Jim later confronts Gene about publicising his story and tells him he must be “isolated”. Sally teaches an acting class where she attempts to replicate Gene’s brash teaching style, disgusting all her students except one, Kristen, who asks her help with a gig. Barry calls Hank to arrange a hit on Gene, but Hank cuts ties with him. Fuches has a change of heart and attempts to report the hit on Barry. Barry’s meeting with WITSEC is derailed when the disguised assassins kill the officers; Barry kills one of the hitmen and escapes the prison.
