Introduction
Barry is an American dark comedy-crime television series created by Alec Berg and Bill Hader that premiered on HBO on 25 March 2018.
Hader stars as Barry Berkman, a former US Marine and a hitman, from Cleveland who travels to Los Angeles to kill someone but finds himself joining an acting class taught by Gene Cousineau (Henry Winkler), where he meets aspiring actress Sally Reed (Sarah Goldberg) and begins to question his path in life as he deals with his criminal associates such as Monroe Fuches (Stephen Root) and NoHo Hank (Anthony Carrigan).
Outline
Despite Sally’s protests, Barry travels to Los Angeles intent on killing Gene. Released from prison, a hardened Fuches visits Hank, who now runs a successful sand importation company called Nohobal, and agrees to work for him in exchange for an opportunity to kill Barry; Hank insists Barry is no longer a threat. Hank terminates the agreement when a drunk Fuches mistakenly congratulates him for eliminating Cristobal. During a meeting with a studio executive, Gene is summoned to meet with the district attorney, where he explains that he came out of hiding to ensure a biopic would not be made that glorified Barry or disgraced Janice. He then visits Leo to apologise for shooting him. While home alone with John, Sally hears Shane Taylor’s voice outside threatening them and seemingly hallucinates an attack from an unknown assailant. Barry arrives at Gene’s house to kill him, only to be captured and find himself seated before Jim.
