Introduction

El Atentado is a Mexican film directed by Jorge Fons Pérez , based on the novel The attack file (2007), by the Mexican writer Álvaro Uribe, about the attack on the life of Porfirio Díaz that took place on 16 September 1897, the day that marked 87 years since the beginning of the War of Independence.

Also known as The Attempt Dossier (US) and File of Attempted Murder (worldwide, English).

Tells the story behind an assassination attempt perpetrated in 1897, by a dipsomaniac man, against the President of the Mexican Republic, General Porfirio Diaz.
