Introduction

Blackadder Goes Forth is the fourth and final series of the BBC sitcom Blackadder, written by Richard Curtis and Ben Elton, which aired on BBC One.

The series placed the recurring characters of Blackadder, Baldrick and George in a trench in Flanders during World War I, and followed their various doomed attempts to escape from the trenches to avoid death under the misguided command of General Melchett.

Outline of Series 04, Episode 05

George ends up in field hospital after a bomb strikes Blackadder’s bunker. Melchett and Darling task Blackadder with finding a German spy who is in the hospital and giving away battle plans. Instead, Blackadder embarks on a relationship with Nurse Mary Fletcher-Brown.

Guest appearance by Miranda Richardson as Nurse Mary Fletcher-Brown.
