Introduction

Navy Log is an American drama anthology series that initially aired for one season on CBS.

It relates the greatest survival war stories in the history of the United States Navy. The series premiered in 1955, but the following year, it was moved to ABC, where it aired until 1958.

Outline

During the World War 2 invasion of Sicily, and other islands, troop transports and cargo ships could get the men and equipment close to the beaches, but not close enough.

A cigar box is Captain John Laycock’s inspiration for a system of unloading men and equipment in shallow water.
