Outline

As the Spring of 1915 arrived, the British went on the offensive and breached the German line. The battles were deadly on both sides with the armies equipped the weapons of the Industrial Revolution including heavy artillery and machine guns. The Germans also utilised poison gas by firing more than 150 tons of lethal chlorine against French divisions at Ypres, devastating the Allied line.
