In November 2020, it was announced Ethan Hawke, Cristina Chiriac, and Phil Nelson had joined the cast of the film, with Abel Ferrara directing from a screenplay he wrote.

Principal photography commenced in November 2020 in Italy.

Release

The film had its world premiere at the 74th Locarno Film Festival in August 2021.
