Introduction

Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles is a 1999-2000 CGI animated television series, based on the 1959 novel by Robert A. Heinlein and the 1997 film adaptation.

It follows the exploits of the Mobile Infantry squad, “Razak’s Roughnecks,” during the SICON–Bugs War between a newly united humanity and an extraterrestrial race, known as the “Bugs,” also sometimes referred to as Arachnids.

The show focuses mainly on the Roughnecks’ missions, rather than addressing the larger war.

Klendathu Part 4.2.

Lt. Razak defies orders by bombing a hot landing zone, apparently killing General Redwing’s squad by accident in the process.

Lt. Walker of Intel seems to relish the idea of holding a tribunal to determine if Razak should be court-martialed for his actions.

All is not as it seems, however, as Alpha Squad members are forced to recount clips of previous episodes in a manner Walker hopes will cast doubt on Razak’s competency to command.

This episode also fits in the overall story arc between episode 29 “Letters Home” and episode 30 “Checkmate” (the final two episodes of the Klendathu campaign) but presumably comes after Clip Show #3 (E43 – Marooned).
