Introduction

LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles, also known as The New Yoda Chronicles, is a seven-part animated series that debuted on Cartoon Network on 29 May 2013 and 29 May 2014 on Disney Channel. It also includes an eleven-part “Mini Movie” web TV series that was released alongside the seven episodes.

It was written by Michael Price, who had previously written LEGO Star Wars – The Padawan Menace and LEGO Star Wars – The Empire Strikes Out.

Outline

During the Clone Wars, Jedi Master Yoda teaches a class of Padawans a lesson about the perils and villains in the galaxy using a holocron. Today’s lesson focuses on Jabba the Hutt, who is shown throwing Jar Jar Binks down a trapdoor to his rancor. At that moment, Yoda feels a disturbance through the Force and realises that Count Dooku and General Grievous have obtained secret plans from Jabba.

Yoda departs for Tatooine on his ARC-170 starfighter, flanked by two other starfighters. Meanwhile, Dooku and Grievous prepare to depart Jabba’s palace in Dooku’s solar sailer. Piloting his ARC-170 starfighter, Yoda destroys Dooku’s ship. Dooku however uses the Force to transform Jabba’s sail barge into a modified starship, angering Jabba.

Yoda pursues the Separatists through space and manages to blast a hole through the canopy of the modified sailed barge. Yoda uses the Force to levitate the plans into his starfighter but Grievous releases a large Rancor that tears the wing of Yoda’s starfighter, causing it to crash on an asteroid. Grievous and Dooku then travel to Kamino where Dooku plans to create a weapon that can lay waste to the Galaxy. There is a brief scene of Dooku’s Sith clones before the screen fades out to be replaced by a “To be continued…” sign.
