Admiral (Russian: Адмиралъ) is a 2009 biopic about Alexander Kolchak, a vice-admiral in the Imperial Russian Navy and leader of the anti-communist White Movement during the Russian Civil War.
The series also depicts the love triangle between the Admiral, his wife, and the poet Anna Timiryova.
The 10-part TV mini-series is an extended version of the 2008 movie.
With the chain of command no longer in force, the Russian military and the country are in turmoil. Soldiers are rebelling against officers. The provisional government offers a political job to Admiral Kolchak, but he refuses. He believes it is his duty to continue fighting the Germans alongside America. He does not allow Anna to travel with him. Then, he loses contact with his wife and son.
